Wastewater treatment here in Lohr meets stringent environmental standards, so that the groundwater stays clean, and your drinking water is safe. The sewage from all districts of the town except Ruppertshütten is treated at the central sewage treatment plant in Sendelbach, and then discharged back into the receiving water - in our case the River Main.
17 pump and liquid elevator systems channel the sewage through a network of some 160 kilometres of sew age pipes from the drains from individual plots to the sewage treatment plant. Between 2.5 and 3 million cubic metres of sewage are treated here each year.
